The pioneering French composer Éliane Radigue wrote OCCAM I for harp especially for Rhodri Davies in 2011. The OCCAM series of pieces was named after the Franciscan friar, William of Occam and Radigue’s work is informed by her spirituality and dedication to Tibetan Buddhism. OCCAM I is unique as it was composed for Davies via aural transmission and he is the only person with the knowledge how to play this piece. Radigue died on the 23rd of February 2026 at the age of 94. These concerts honour her memory with a month-long daily performance of OCCAM I that starts on her birthday and ends on the anniversary of her death.
Doors open at 1.30pm.
